Bing Webmaster Tools overhaul
Bing announced at SMX West that it will make a major update to its webmaster tools. Now you can see a new interface in the three reports of "Website Performance", "Site Map" and "Backlinks". This interface will be officially launched in the first week of March.
As long as the website has Google's webmaster tools certified, it can indirectly certify Bing's webmaster tools. It is recommended that those who have not used Bing take some time to set it up. It can be completed in 3 to 5 minutes.

Reminder: Google will start crawling nofollow links after 3/1
This is last year's announcement - starting from March 1, 2020, Google will use the rel="nofollow" attribute in the link as a reference, and will still crawl the URL in nofollow. In addition, two new link attributes - "ugc" and "sponsored" are added to mark different links.
Two updates to the GSC URL change tool
The URL change tool in Google Webmaster Tools has the following two updates - (1.) Automatically verify the top five URLs under the domain to ensure that the URL changes are correct; (2.) A prompt that the URL has been converted appears at the top.

Burberry showcases products in AR on Google search
This is a new feature announced at last year’s Google Developer Conference. Introduced by, and recently netizens have discovered that Burberry products have started to have this new option on Google. You can see in the source code that they are using the Schema Markup of 3DModel.
The author also saw this new function during his own testing. Interested readers can try searching for "burberry medium leather tb bag", which is quite cool.

Google Image Search Update - Authorization Label
Can the images searched on Google be used directly or do they need to be licensed? Google will launch a new tag so that webmasters can tell Google whether the images on their own websites require authorization through structured data.

Rule adjustments for third-party cookies after Chrome 80
This change has been officially implemented with the launch of Chrome 80 (2/4). I have seen this news before, but at that time I thought that the main impact would be on advertising promotion or data collection services rather than general websites. In addition, I am not an expert in cookies and security, so I did not introduce it in depth. But recently I saw these two Chinese articles introducing this change. They are very detailed and easy to understand. I recommend them to everyone!
- Rule adjustment for third-party cookies after Chrome 80 (default SameSite=Lax) (by Ian Hung)
- What’s up with SameSite Cookies Policy ?! (by Paul Li)
To put it simply, after Chrome version 80, if third-party cookies are not added with the SameSite attribute, they may be blocked by Chrome during transmission. To debug, go to your website and open Developer tools > Console and see if there is a message similar to the one below, which will detail the cookies from which sources will expire after the update. If there are cookies that will affect the operation of the website, please ask the other party to add the appropriate SameSite attribute.

Google webmaster Q&A - Feb 7 & Feb 18
Google’s SEO spokesperson John Mueller often holds online live Q&A (Webmaster Hangout) to interact with webmasters or SEOs and answer various questions. I used to watch it on time, but after Deepcrawl started to help everyone sort out the key points, I changed to just watching the notes XD
This live broadcast is one of the important channels for obtaining official information. It is much more convenient to organize notes. Although most of the questions are repeated, there are still some interesting questions occasionally. The author will learn from John's official answers here. The following two questions are more interesting in this note, and the answers can be found in the article. Will
- Google Discoverbe affected by core algorithm changes?
- Is rel="ugc" a link that appears in UGC, or a link to a UGC page?

Hitwise will follow Jumpshot into history
Jumpshot is a subsidiary of the anti-virus software Avast. It was recently revealed that it was collecting user information and decided to cease operations. Hitwise, another online user data provider similar to Jumpshot, also announced on its website in mid-February that it would cease operations. The data provided by these two manufacturers is the source of information for many third-party SEO tools. In an era of rising user privacy, this information will only become more and more rare in the future.

Official Article - SEO Optimization of AMP Story
AMP officially released an article specifically talking about SEO optimization of AMP Story. Although AMP Story is rarely seen on Chinese websites now, I think it is a technology worth investing in.
There are two points in this article that I didn’t know before - (1.) If AMP Story is in full video format, the text that appears can be placed in the title attribute of the video file to let search engines know the content; (2.) AMP Story does not apply to the <link rel="amphtml"..> tag and can only set itself as a standard web page (self canonical).

Official Article - Showing Events on Google Search
Although this is not a new feature, Google has released a new article talking about how "activities" can be displayed in search results, and announced that it will be implemented in Germany and Spain, with the open area reaching 15 countries. This feature has not yet been opened in Taiwan, but the necessary tags may be added to the web page first. The author has done a similar project before, and the results were quite good.
