When AI exploded a few years ago, I was quite anxious.
I worry about whether my profession will become useless, and I’ve been thinking about how the way humans find information will change.
I even took a plumbing course to prepare myself for a new path, but ended up breaking the faucet at home first.
Looking back, the most correct thing I did during that period was to keep in touch with Yuan Kui.
He would take the initiative to send various news, tools and articles, but I was actually very negative at first, thinking that these things would no longer be important after the arrival of AGI.
Until a certain moment, I gradually found that I could not understand the content he transmitted more and more, but at the same time, I could also feel his joy when he opened up concepts or automated a bunch of manual steps.
That got me started trying to embrace AI, which has led me all the way to where I am now.
I’m still leaning toward AI doomsday.
Often after completing something and celebrating for a few seconds with both hands clenched, the voice of “It’s nothing” will immediately come out in my head.
The difference is that now I feel more at ease and I at least understand how to do something before judging its value.
This process also gave me a better understanding of the current value of human beings.
